    Our New Year ….

I am sorry it is taking me so long to update this.  This is how 2007 ended & 2008 began for us.
Ok ... well, our New Years Eve didn't go quite as planned.  We were going to go launch some fireworks, go spend some time with Sabrina & Charlie and then head home.  The boys were having a good time in Conroe so all we had to do was take Savanna with us & have some good fun with her.

Well, we went and got some fireworks ... that was pretty smooth.  We then headed to the Safe Zone provided by Alamo Fireworks out in China Grove.  On the way there we saw a fire & anyone that knows Steven knows that he has to stop to  make sure no one is harms way & help.  Well, good thing he did.  The area of the fire is his Chief's apartment complex so that was a very good thing to stop for.  Will & Steven helped in getting the fire dealt with along with SAFD while Jason sat with Savanna & I away from the fire ... of course to help keep me from freaking out!  Got that all dealt with & then headed out to China Grove.

Exited for China Grove ... grabbed dinner and then headed out for the fireworks.  We had only been shooting fireworks for about 10 to 15 minutes and realized that about 100 yards from us was a brush fire that started due to some teenagers shooting fireworks to close to the edge of the Safe Zone.  Need less to say ... with the wind and the dead grass that was all around it moved pretty quickly.  Steven & Will went over to the fire since apparently screaming FIRE at the people running the safe area wasn't going to be doing anything.  Will went to warn the people in the house that a fire had started and Steven began calling 911 to get help out.  Well, Jason went to go check on things after he went to the front to let them know about the fire, which got the response of "We have called for help" and Savanna and I stood watching the three men we were spending time with begin to get surrounded by flames.  Steven then called me on the phone to tell me to go to the front and tell them to stop the fireworks (which would have been common sense you would think ... but nope!) and I did.  All I got was "We can't stop them" from the man wearing a badge stating he was in a place of authority.  How crappy was that.  I also let the men selling fireworks know about the fire and that maybe the firewoks no longer needed to be going off and got "We can't stop them".  I kid you not I was so frustated. With Savanna in hand I called Jason for him to pick up the fireworks that I had left in the safe zone and then we proceeded to take the drive to the house where the fire was surrounding to which we all began (except Savanna ... she sat with the ladies that lived in the house) taking shovels and trying to keep the fire from the house.  All in all there were about 10 people who are not firemen going after this fire and of course ... we had some firemen that were trying to help but no fire trucks.  Yes, even I began to help but found that the flames were more than I could handle so I did what I could to make sure that the men had all that they needed and of course called my mom to ask her to begin prayer for the people fighting the fire and that God would keep his hands around the house to keep it from burning.  She prayed with me on the phone and then .. I had to let her go.  As much as she is my reassurance for things I had to get back to doing what I could physically to help.

I can not begin to tell you what fear, worry and utter pride began to flow through me as I watched my husband, brother in law & one of our best friends putting themselves on the line with total strangers for total strangers.  I could not have been any prouder of those three men.  I know I couldn't do a lot physically but I do hope that in some form or fashion I helped somewhere.

The fire took about 500 acres of land and we did get some help and relief but I will be honest in saying that with out the quick thinking of my three guys and the help from total strangers ... that house would not still be standing & there could be many people harmed or worse dead today.  We didn't get home until about 2:30am on January 1, 2008 but you know ... it was a great way to spend my new year to watch these people all work together.  To watch my daughter not freak out like most children her age & to make a new friend.  Yes, I made a friend that night ... sitting in the truck with a firefighters wife doing what we could to take water where it was needed, take people to where they were needed & to have a warm place for my daughter & I to sit while we do what we could.

Nope, I didn't get the glamorous New Years Eve or New Years kiss but I can tell you that my hubby kissed me at 11:56pm on 12.31.07 and again at 12:30am 01.01.08 ad I know that no where in between he kissed anyone else but the flames of a fire ... I am good with that.  Yet, I did get a new years eve of being the proudest wife, sister in law & friend to three great guys who put everything that they wanted and even lives on the line for people they didn't know, don't know and will probably never know.

2007 ended and 2008 came in the exact same way, but with a feeling of accomplishment when the flames were all out & everyone was able to go home safely. 2008 brings me Savann's 2nd birthday, our one year anniversary of being married, Tyler's 12th birthday, my 30th birthday, Timothy's 11th birthday, Steven's 24th birthday and so many wonderful events that I am sure God has instore of me and my family.

I do hope that everyone had a safe & happy new years eve and that 2008 brings you all that you are looking for.

God's Blessings & Best Wishes, Faith Ann

    New Pictures

Well, we have made it through the Thanksgiving holiday. We had a wonderful time with my family in Round Rock.  We also had a new friend .. Cathy ... spend it with us.  It was wonderful.  That same weekend we put up our Christmas tree & decorated the game room for Christmas.  Now we are slowly working on the rest of the house.  Once the rest of the house is decorated I will take more pictures to add to the album.

Please enjoy the pictures.  They are pretty random of us that evening & some are taken by Tyler.  He is getting good with the camera.

    Aerospace Day 09.28.07

Hello everyone!!!  I wanted to write a small blog about Tyler & his first Aerospace Day!  He had a great time.  I was not able to attend due to work but Steven was able to be there for him & get pictures and a video! We are all so very proud of Tyler!

Tyler built his first bottle rocket for the year & brought it home to paint.  After that he ended up with the flu & missed two days of school but was able to make it to his very first Aerospace Day!  He launched his very first bottle rocket & it did GREAT!!!

Tyler’s rocket hit the altitude of 407.58 feet!  At the school the highest they can launch is 500 feet so that is pretty close to the max!  We believe that he is going to do wonderful things when he is able to launch it 1000 feet at the end of the year!  We can’t wait!

As Tyler gets more rockets built & Aerospace Days done we will post pictures in the Aerospace 6th Grade folder.

Please take a moment to go to Tyler’s web page to leave comments in his Guestbook about his rockets.  He is so proud of them & we could not be prouder of him!

    Hugs

    Faith Ann

    Update for May 2007

Our family has gone through some changes this past month.  It has been fun & exciting all rolled into one.

May 4th – Steven & I got married.  We are all very happy & enjoying our first month as a legal family.  It has been a transition & we are still working out all the little kinks that families have.

May 14th – Timothy had his last Celebrate Success for 3rd grade.  He did an awesome job & again made Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance.  We are all so very proud of this growing boy of ours.

May 16th – Tyler & I did a Middle School preview for two magnet programs for him to possibly attend next year.  He is excited & we hope to have information on his acceptance into iMAK or KSAT by the end of June.

May 22nd – Tyler graduated from 5th grade & is now on his way to Middle School.  He got his awards for Honor Roll, Safety Patrol & the Presidents Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement.  We are so proud of him for his accomplishments in Elementary School.

May 23rd – Savanna is now 14 months old & walking all the time.  She enjoys her days with Gwennie & even enjoys her time in the play pen.  She has begun hiding things so we are always on the hunt for something.  She has moved from a bottle to a sippy cup, she is taking whole milk now & is eating great!  Still no teeth but hey … that doesn’t stop her any. We still don’t let her drink juices but that is ok … she gets her vitamins & is very healthy.

May 24th – The final decision from NEISD for the boundary change came in & Timothy will be moving schools next year for his last two years of Elementary School.  It is hard for him but he is excited about the new adventures.

May 25th – Both Steven & I were able to take some time off work to go watch the Royal Ridge Annual Talent Show.  We were so proud to watch Tyler participate with the Patriot Choir.  He did a wonderful job.  Next year, if Timothy’s new school has a talent show he plans to audition.  We can’t wait to see what he does.

All in all – the month of May has been busy.  We have a couple of more days left but we plan for them to be pretty uneventful in our lives as we try to wind down from the school year & get ready for the summer.  We may try to go tubing this Memorial Day weekend if the weather permits but all of that is in God’s hands.  We let Him make those decisions & we do our best to understand them.

Please keep our family in prayer as we have some tough decisions to make this summer.  We are looking at what is best for our family & are looking for God’s input on what He wishes for us to do.

We wish everyone a safe & happy Memorial Day weekend.

    San Antonio Rampage Game

    Hockey

Our family attended its first hockey game!  We had a wonderful time watching the San Antonio Rampage play!

I hope that everyone will take some time out to look at the pictures from the hockey game.  Yes, some are boring pictures of the players playing, but hey … we had a great time watching so we wanted to share.

We only had one fight in the game & that happened in the first period.  It did not last long & it did not look like anyone was hurt too badly.  Though, it did seem to get the guys’ attention that there was something going on down there.

The second period Gwen & Faith Ann spent the entire time going to the restroom & getting drinks for the kids.  Apparently lines were very long at that time.  No big deal … there are screens all around the AT&T Center that they were able to watch the game & all the fun stuff that was on the ice.

The third period we all watched the last of the game & how it seemed our team would come back to win but apparently they just were not all heart that evening.  They did a great job but the score showed that Houston won the game.

Even with the Rampage loosing we had a wonderful time & it was a great time for our family to spend together!

    Check out the pics!

    Our Family Easter 2007

Easter in our house is a very special & precious time.  We celebrate our Lord Jesus!  We also celebrate the love of our family & friends.

This year the weather was very cool & so that made us have to do the egg hunt inside.  Luckily, the Lane house is big enough!  We had a wonderful time attending church at our home church of Live Oak First Baptist Church.  Then headed to Nana & Papa’s for a wonderful lunch, time with family & of course an egg hunt for the kids.  This year we also did something somewhat fun & celebrated everyone’s Un-Birthday!  It was great to get little trinkets.  Everyone got something & Savanna made a big mess with her chocolate cake.  All in all we had a wonderful time & this year was wonderful to watch all three of my children enjoy the egg hunt.

    Happy Easter,

    Savanna is One Year Old

Savanna is now 1 year old, as of March 23, 2007!!  It is great to see her getting so big.  She now weighs 20lbs 15oz & is 29 ½ inches tall.  She is a small little girl, but don’t let that fool you … she is a pistol!

We got to celebrate her birthday with family & friends on March 24th.  She had a wonderful time eating her own little chocolate cake that was made by Nana.  Watching her reminded me so much of Tyler & Timothy’s first birthdays.  Tyler did not want to get messy & began to slowly eat his cake, where Timothy was all about making a mess.  Our little Angel Princess seems to take qualities from both her brothers in her attack on the cake.

Savanna is still cruising but she shows signs of wanting to walk.  Luckily she got walking wings for her birthday so soon she will be up & running … literally!  She still has no teeth but that does not stop her from trying all sorts of things.  Her words are getting better & the VSmile she got for her birthday is helping a lot!  We can’t wait to see what other cool things she learns.

She is already working on her sports … she got a cute baseball bat & ball game for her birthday that she has enjoyed so much.  With her standing so well now she really finds things that she can do standing up to be lots of fun!

It is hard to believe that she is now 1 but … she is a joy in our lives.  Please take a moment to look at the pictures from her party.  She has gotten so big from when she first stepped into our lives.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAVANNA!!!

    MS Walk 2007

Our family is walking this weekend in the MS Walk here in San Antonio.

    March 3, 2007 @ 9:00am

Tyler came home earlier this week & began to ask questions. He then began to look online for information about the MS Walk. His friend’s grandfather has MS and is walking on Saturday as well. He asked if he would be able to walk because he wants to make a difference & help in supporting his friend. We agreed that it is a worthy cause & that we would all walk. Ok, so Savanna gets to ride but she is going. We joined his friend’s team & off we go. We are excited about the walk & will have lots of pictures I am sure. We have to meet up with the team at 7:00am on Saturday & even though it is early we will be there.

Please go check out our team’s site: Team Robison

If you feel led to please feel free to donate to either the entire team or to an individual on the team. We would all love to have your support.

We hope everyone has a great weekend!!

    Notary

    YEA ME!!!

I got my Notary stuff in today.  I am so excited.  My office is also excited because now they don’t have to search the building for a Notary.

I am taking time to read up on all the things that I need to know in order to fill my job as a Notary correctly.  I am very proud to be among some great friends in doing this.

I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am for this new opportunity!

Ok, so this is the big news on me.  Check out our family website for updates on the family.

    Halloween

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This Halloween the kids had a good time going to the Pumpkin Fest at the school, the Fall Festival at the church & then Trick or Treating in Nana's neighborhood  We also had Logan & Braden with us.  We all had a nice time, a good walk & lots of candy.  It was nice to hear all the kids laugh & smile.  By the time Steven had to go to work we were done with our trick or treating.  Everyone was tired & ready for bed.  So, after everyone got home, showers were taken & everyone went to bed without a fight or comment.  Even I was down & out for the night.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!

    Past ....

Well ... apparently the people in our past (that WE let go of) don't know how to let go or move on.  They continue to have to find a way back into our lives.  Steven & I have decided that we are not letting them bother us.  We find their antics to be truly childish & very immature.  So, we are going to keep living our lives & spending time with our family.

Our three beautiful children are doing great & growing so quickly.  Tyler is now doing Patrols & Timothy is running for 3rd grade student council this week.  We can't wait to see the results.  Hopefully we will know them by the end of Friday.  WE HOPE!  Tyler is also doing Patriot Choir so that is taking up some of his time too.  Timothy was doing hand bells, but that has stopped for now & hopefully after the new year it will begin again.  Savanna is getting so good at "Army Crawling" and it is funny to watch her.  She is a determined little girl (a lot like her Oma).  We love our three children so much & can't wait for Halloween to come!!!

Steven & I are doing well.  Both of us are working & taking care of our kids.  It is great to have a true man who helps & knows what it means to be faithful & supportive.  Right now with the different hours we are working we are not having to put Savanna or the boys in daycare.  We are working well as a team in taking care of our family.

School is taking a bit of effort this time around but they are graduate classes so they are supposed to be a bit tougher.  They will be well worth it & once Steven starts school in the Spring we will be so excited for him.  He is excited already.

Well, I can only hope that everyone is doing well.  Our family is doing great & we are all excited about the things to come.  We just wish that the people in our past that we do not want contact with (and have been upfront with them about it) would leave us be.  Send what you said you would & let's move on.

    Hugs,
    From all of us ....

    Our Lives Lately

Hello … again!  It has been a while since I have taken time out to write down what is going on … SORRY!!!! Things have been busy.  We are all adjusting to the new things going on in our lives & such.  So, here is the run down on what has been going on lately.

First … WE MOVED!!!  We are now in our house & loving it.  We have lots of living space, though not a lot of storage space.  We are dealing though.  The boys have their room & are slowly getting it the way that they want it.  Savanna’s now has a room of her own that is decorated in a Princess theme with her Classic Winnie the Pooh set.   We believe she is rather happy in her room.  We are in the process of getting the living room, kitchen & dining room done the way that we want it, but at least right now it is together.  The master bedroom & bath is still being worked on & will probably be the last set of rooms that are done. We aren’t in there to often except to sleep so we are focusing on other areas in the house.

Second … We are just celebrated 6 months with our little angel Savanna.  We all are so glad we have her.  Tyler & Timothy are awesome at helping out with her.  They are always able to make her laugh too.  Steven is keeping her most of the time during the day and always on his days off.  She is starting to talk a lot more than before and loves to play with cell phones.  She is also crawling, but only like the military do.  She doesn’t get that belly off the floor yet. She is getting there though.  It isn’t going to be much longer!  October 12th we are celebrating Steven’s birthday & our one year anniversary of being engaged.  Hopefully we will get to have some fun as a family & as a couple that night to celebrate.  Who knows … maybe we will get to head out to Cowboys for a bit.

Third … The boys are doing awesome in school. Timothy just learned to play the hand bells and also sang a solo in his program earlier this month.  Tyler is doing Patriot Choir & is having a good time.  His program is December 5th.  We can’t wait.  They are both doing awesome with their grades & just all around having a great time with their new friends around the neighborhood.

Fourth … Steven & I are doing well.  We are both working & so it makes it hard sometimes for us to be in the same place at the same time.  However we are great at making the best out of the time that we do have.  We have gone out dancing once in the past few months & had a nice time, but due to a work injury we didn’t get to dance a lot.  That is ok though because we dance at home & it is just as wonderful.  I have started back to school & doing ok.  Some weeks are better than others.  Steven is looking at starting school as soon as we can get his schedule fixed.  Not a lot to say about us other than we are doing all we can to get things together & just provide for our family.

Lastly … the holiday season is coming & we are all excited.  We get to decorate the house & get to introduce all these fun times to Savanna.  The boys can’t wait to see what she is going to be for Halloween.  We have seen a few options but so far have not come up with a definite.  We plan to do that next week.  So, feel free to leave your thoughts about what the little girl should be.  So far I think we have gone for the Monkey … as it fits her nickname … Chunky Monkey.

Please leave a comment & let us know how you are doing.

    Hugs & God Bless,

    Summer's almost gone

Ok, I know I have not been the greatest about keeping my blog up to date with all the new things going on.  Well, here is an update on what is going on in our family.

Tyler is now 10 years old & getting ready to go into the 5th Grade.  It is hard to believe that my first baby is now into double digits. He is growing by leaps & bounds.  It is wonderful to see how much he is changing!  He is looking at doing soccer and possibly another sport, but that will depend.  He has talked about track so we will see.  I guess he plans to put those long legs to good use!  He has enjoyed traveling this summer & going swimming as often as possible.

Timothy will be 9 years old in less than two months!  He is moving up into the 3rd Grade this year.  He is excited about all the cool things that he will get to learn & of course, he is also looking at the fact that moving up in grades & age gives him some more privileges but it also comes with some more responsibilities! We shall see how that goes.  He wants to play basketball & possibly soccer so we will see what he decides upon.  He has been having fun traveling & just getting to be a free little boy when it comes to outside.  We have to get the tires on his bike fixed though & soon before he goes insane!

Savanna is growing & soon will be 4 months old.  She is getting so big now & it is amazing to think that we have had this precious child for only 4 months. We got her ears pierced on July 7th.  Her Daddy had to hold her because I could not.  I think I cried more than she did.  However, she has these pretty flower earrings in & she is too cute for words.  She missed the boys while they were gone & now that they are back she is just as spoiled.  They pay her the greatest attention.  She loves her brothers very much & it shows.  She is also a major Daddys Girl, which is cute.  She has all the men & I, to a point, wrapped around her chubby little finger!

Steven & I are doing well.  We are making it through the summer & busy schedules. I have gone back to work & so it is taking some adjusting.  I am still nursing Savanna at night & she is taking a bottle during the day, except on weekends we dont give her bottles unless we have to.  Steven & I are both looking at all the options we have ahead of us.  He has been on medical leave from work due to his ankle having a small fracture in it, but he has not let this time go by without doing anything.  He is looking at changing his career & has begun to look at going to school.  As of right now we are still in San Antonio, but that might change.  We have looked at New Braunfels & will figure out what is best for our family before we make a final decision.

We hope everyone is doing well.  I will try to have new pictures up soon.  If youd like you can always check out our family website to see what is new with us. www.geocitites.com/momoftwots

    It is May ....

May is here & we are enjoying the warmer weather.  The boys are counting down the days until school is out & our summer fun begins.  They will be doing VBS here in San Antonio & of course visiting Conroe for a while as well.  We are all looking forward to the summer & giving Savanna her first taste of the pool & hopefully the coast.

Tyler is doing an economics project with a group of kids in his class.  They have created a company, put together a product & have put together advertising for their product & will be selling it at school.  I am so proud of him!

Timothy is having a great time finishing his school year out with his teacher & friends.  He is also going to be taking a field trip to Mr Gatti's to learn about fractions in real life.  What a blast for him!! He loves Mr Gatti's & so this is a dream come true for him!  He is doing so wonderfully & I could not be happier with calling him my baby boy!

Savanna is growing by leaps & bounds.  She is now approximately 10lbs & is showing us her personality more & more every day.  She is even exercising her right as a girl to change her mind & to just whine!  It is just to cute!  We are all taking pictures daily of the new things she is doing & the one thing she has been doing great since she arrived ... sleep!  Tyler & Timothy are both GREAT big brothers & enjoy helping with her.  It is wonderful to see my children together.

Mother's Day is approaching & this year it is a hard day for our family.  On May 14, 2003 Oma went to be in heaven with Opa.  Opa went before her on April 20, 1998.  She is missed greatly by our family.  It is sad that some of our children will never get to know her like the older ones, but we have lots of stories to tell & pictures to show.  Not only is it a sad day for our family, but it is also my Uncle Wayne's birthday, so that makes it a really long day for us because we need to celebrate his life, but we will also remember the death of Oma.  We will be heading out to the cemetary that day in order to tell her that we miss her & to tell her Happy Mother's Day.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother (Oma).

Please come back regularly to check up on what is new with us or you can check out our family website in our lists.

    April Update

    Family Update

Our family is celebrating Savannas one month birthday.  Not only is it her one month, but her Uncle Tommy is turning 19 years old the same day.  Now, how cool is that? Ok, so maybe I am the only one who finds it cool, but hey Im the Mommy so that is what counts. We have made it through a month of adapting; learning about her & watching her grow.  It has been so much fun.  Now for some single updates on each of us.

Update on Tyler The proud BIG Brother

Tyler is now 5 feet tall & according to the doctor he is the height of an average 12 year old.  Nowlets not think what he will be when he is 12.  I mean goodness ... I am only 56.  He has finished his TAKS tests for the year & is now just trying to get through the rest of the school year.  We have actually found that these last weeks shouldnt be too bad.  We will get through them & have begun to look forward to our summer time together.  We hope to get to travel a little bit & get to see some friends & family members that we dont get to see a lot during the school year.

Update on Timothy The proud Big Brother

Timothy is now standing 4 6 ½ tall.  It is pretty cool.  He is also taller than most kids his age.  I have no idea what I am going to do when my baby boy gets taller than me.  Ive always hoped Id be able to keep a little taller of him, but I guess not.  He has done so well in school & is aiming to reach the Honor Roll this last nine weeks.  We found out he needed glasses towards the end of this school year & it has really improved his grades.  He is doing so much better & I am excited for him.  What is also exciting is that we have not had to replace the glasses yet.  He has taken good care of them & there are some days that we have some scuffles about them but we get through those days & on to the better days. He is enjoying his bike now that the weather is warmer & has such a blast just being outside.  Of course with the weather getting so hot so quickly here in South Texas he is looking forward to the pool time he is going to get too.  It is great having a pool for him to play in too!

Update on Savanna - One Month Old

She is taking on such a cute personality all her own. She is now holding her head up really well & looks like she is trying to scoot around when she is on the floor.  To be honest though she isnt on the floor to often everyone loves to hold her & she loves to be in her bouncer.  She is sleeping well at night & she is starting to get herself into a schedule.  Now, if only the rest of us can just comply with her demand of it being her way then we will adjust faster.  Yet, we are all sure we will get her to conform to our way sooner or latergoodness I hope it is sooner.

Update on Steven The Proud Daddy

Steven is doing great with his job & has gotten a promotion to Corporal & is a Supervisor now.  He loves the security that he is doing & really has begun to just flourish with the company.  The other wonderful thing is that he will be starting an EMT Class this summer.  It will last four months, but hey we will survive.  Our family supports his decision to do this 100%.  He has such a heart desire to help people & this will be just one more way that he can do that.  He has such a big heart & our family is so proud of him.

Update on Faith Ann The Mommy

I guess that just leaves an update on me the Mommy.  Well, I am slowly getting myself back into the swing of things.  I am enjoying my time home with my children & being there for them.  However, I am also beginning to miss the workforce & being around with co-workers & friends.  I am in the process of looking for a new job with a little less stress than my last one & one that will allow me the time with my children that is needed.  They are my first priority always.  Steven is supportive of my decisions & is always reminding me that I can do anything.  It is nice to have the support.

    First ER Visit

A great way to celebrate our one month birthday … NOT!!!  Savanna began to run a temperature & get red blotches on her skin so we took her to the NCBH Emergency Room.  It was a long wait, but we finally got all the tests run.  They had to give her an IV Line & about 30 minutes of an IV Drip.  They also had to take a urine sample (please don’t ask how it was not fun!!) and a blood sample to run the tests.  However, the blood sample was such a problem.  They had to take about 5 samples because her blood would clot before it got to the lab for testing.  Finally the doctor had to take it & it got to the lab to be tested.  Nana came & sat with us while we did this so that Daddy could go home & get some sleep before having to be back at work.  It was 10:55pm on 4-22-06 when we got there to check into the ER & it was 7:00am on the 23rd of April when Nana got to take us home.  All the tests came back that there was not a bacterial infection but that it was just a virus that we had to wait out.  I figure it is better that we were safe than sorry.  However, it was a really long night & a lot of tears were shed, not only by Savanna but by her Mommy & Nana too!!!  Glad it is over though & we even have pictures of Savanna with her IV.

    Month of April

The month of April had a lot of special days for our family.  We had Easter and lots of birthdays.  Nana’s was the 18th, Grandma Betty’s was the 22nd, and Uncle Tommy’s was the 23rd.  We just had so many things going on. Easter was lots of fun at Nana’s house. The kids (except Savanna) got to do an egg hunt & Papa grilled hamburgers & hot dogs for everyone.  Molly took lots of pictures of everyone too.  If you check out our family photo album on-line you will get to see them as soon as I can get them up. There are some pictures up now that I took though.  Of course, Savanna was content to be held & sleep all day, which is what she did.  I ended up breaking out in hives, so by the end of the day I was sleeping soundly with the help of antihistamines.  Luckily I have parents who know what to do in those type of situations. We had a great day though.  Birthdays are great for phone calls, e-cards & little notes that remind those people just how special they are to us.  We are ready for May to come & for all the blessings God will be bringing us over the next month.

An early Mother’s Day wish for you …. You are wonderful ladies & I’m happy to be apart of the group!

    Happy Mothers Day

    Our Family Easter

Our family had it's first Easter this year with Savanna.  We were so happy to introduce her to everyone & let her begin to hear the stories of what Easter is truly about.  It is not candy, baskets, egg hunts & the easter bunny, but the fact that Jesus Christ rose again just as He said He would.

We had a nice morning at home with just our little family & then off to church service at Live Oak First Baptist Church.  After church we went to Nana's house for food, fun, fellowship & all around ... PICTURES!!!!  We always take lots of pictures when our family gets together.  Most of us have either a digital camera or video cameras, so we are always in ACTION mode when we get together.  It is loads of fun to watch the kids get a kick out of it all.

We had hamburgers, hot dogs, lots of vegetables, chips, deviled eggs & potato salad.  We then got homemade ice cream that Papa made! He has gotten so good at that & we all LOVE it.  Even Nana eats it, even though it is not chocolate! Papa grilled our hamburgers & hot dogs so we all knew they would taste great!  He is a great grill chef.

Steven had to work that afternoon.  We hated to see him leave, but he got to spend the morning with us until about 1:30pm.  He got to eat lunch & take pictures with us.  He even helped Nana in the kitchen to finish lunch & got to eat.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter & that God continues to bless your family as He has ours.

Most of the pictures I took are in the photos section & as soon as I can get the pictures from everyone else then I will add them in.

    Family Update

Our Princess is now 10 days old.  She is doing great!  We are taking lots of pictures of her, her big brothers & all the funny things she is doing.  Please remember to check our family website & on-line photo albums to see all the pictures.

Princess Savanna is so alert now.  It is great.  She hears our voices & starts to look for us.  She loves to make little cooing noises & of course when she cries it still is not very loud.  It is kind of cute to hear her.  Tyler & Timothy hear her cry & come running to her to make sure she is ok.  They also try to appease her until I am able to get to her.

We had our first doctor appointment on the 31st of March.  She weighed 7lbs even at the doctor office & Dr Salinas says she is doing great.  We had to go to the hospital for another Bilirubin test & her second PKU test.  I hate those tests so much.  They prick her heel & make her cry as they squeeze blood out of it & they expect us as the Mommy to hold the baby as they cry like this.  Savanna nor I liked these tests.  However, they are necessary.  Her results of her Bilirubin test were give to us by the afternoon.  Her levels were at 4.1 which is much lower than the 6.2 that she had when we left the hospital so her jaundice is getting better.  We are very happy about that.

Savanna lost her umbilical cord came off finally on April 1, 2006.  Proud Daddy found that it had fallen off while he was holding her after work.  We are excited about this because now we can actually give her a real bath!  It is going to be so much fun.  We have a cute rubber ducky that tells us when the water is to hot (from Aunt Sandy) & a cute yellow hooded robe with duckies on it (from Ms Lindsay).

Tyler & Timothy are doing great with Savanna.  Tyler has figured out that if he lets Savanna suck on the top of his pinky finger that she is quiet ... for at least a little while.  He is great at checking on her & sitting with her when Mommy needs to go into another room while her Daddy is at work or busy doing something.  Timothy has found that she loves to be held & always wants to hold her when he his home.  He is however, finding that she likes her baby bouncer & so he keeps her happy in there too.

All in all we are adjusting & enjoying all the cute things that are invovled in being with this precious little girl & getting to know her.

Please check back to see what new updates there are as we continue with our journey as a family!

Savanna MariAnn is here!!!  She made her appearance on March 23, 2006 at 3:09pm.  She was 7lbs 1oz & 17 1/2 inches long.  She is adorable.  We hope to have lots of new pictures up here within the next couple of days.

Both Mommy & Baby are doing well.   Daddy & her big brothers are doing well too!  Everyone is glad that she is here, healthy & showing signs of being the little princess.

Faith Ann is breastfeeding her & both of them have taken to it really well.  We can't wait for everyone to be home though.  Mommy & Baby are due to be home on Saturday & the boys will be back home on Sunday after church.  We can't wait!!!

Here is one picture of Savanna from the day after she was born.  Again, we will have pictures up soon.

    Spring Break

The boys are home from Fort Worth. They had a great time spending time with Paco & family that they don't get to see normally.  They got Paco settled into his new apartment & spent a lot of quality time with him.  I am glad to have them home though.  I am hoping that we can spend some time outside on Sunday since it is their last day of Spring Break, but our weather is showing possible rain.  Ugh!!  I am sure we will have a nice time though.  The boys & I always find something fun to do even when stuck inside.

We are also in the process of counting down the days until Savanna comes.  The boys are so glad that she didn't come while they were gone.  That would of been awful for them.  Granted I am sure Paco would of brought them back if I had gone into labor.  We finally have Savanna's cradle & canopy up, so the boys are estatic.  Of course, we are also in the process of getting all her things put away in special places so that everyone can get to it & take care of her.  Of course, the boys have made it clear that they do not want to change diapers, which is fine.  We figure that is a Daddy job anyways!  I'm sure that in time the boys might be more willing to help in that area.

Counting down the days is something that I am doing as well, but at the same time it is a little depressing because I will no longer be able to have the monopoly on time with Savanna.  I enjoy the fact that I can feel her everytime she moves.  Yet, I think I will be ok once she is actually born.  Steven & the boys have been very patient waiting for her, so they deserve their time with her too.

Please come back to see what is new & how things are progressing for Savanna's arrival.  We are now at 5 days & counting!!!!
